Attracting the right applicants is sought from advertising in the local and national press, job centres and employment agencies.
Applicants are selected on
personal skills and qualities and also experience, this will vary depending on the position available and the criteria required filling the vacancy. Any specialist skills required will be highlighted.
After an applicant as been selected and attended an interview, the screening process will begin.
When the first stage of the screening process is complete the applicant may be offered probationary employment with the company while a more
in-depth screening process is carried out.
Part one of the screening process checks out
personal references and the
last five years employment history or until leaving full time education also any periods of unemployment are looked into as well.
Part
two of the screening process should the applicant pass part
one is to carry out a more in-depth background check up to the
last ten years employment or until leaving full time
education, again all periods of unemployment will be looked
into. Only after this check is complete will a permanent
employment with the company be offered.
All
screening and training carried out meets the requirements of
the International Professional Security Association (IPSA)
code of practice.
